About the position

The Production Manager for MRO 2nd Shift at Parker Hannifin Corporation is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality, cost, delivery, morale, and safety of a production area. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing and improving production quality, cost, delivery, morale, and safety.
  • Supervise and direct work activities of Leads in the assigned area, distributing workload appropriately.
  • Train and develop subordinates, conduct performance appraisals, and administer disciplinary procedures as necessary.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and eliminate waste in assigned departments.
  • Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings and participate in cost-reduction programs.
  • Coordinate new product launches with Engineering and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform capacity analysis using build plans and determine staffing requirements for the production area.
  • Develop and deploy standardized work instructions and ensure process stability through adherence to these instructions.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies and conduct safety investigations and audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical or business discipline.
  • Four or more years of directly related experience in manufacturing or production management.
  • Substantial practical knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, and quality operations support.
  • General knowledge of business and government regulations related to manufacturing specifications and safety.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MRP or other planning/execution systems.
  • Ability to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.
