About the position

The Production & Operations Associate at JECA Energy Bars is responsible for the production of food products, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards. This role involves operating equipment, monitoring production processes, and engaging with customers during product demonstrations. The associate will also maintain cleanliness and safety in the production area, following FDA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color.
  • Select and measure or weigh ingredients, using English or metric measures and balance scales.
  • Mix or blend ingredients according to recipes, using a paddle or an agitator, or by controlling vats that heat and mix ingredients.
  • Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas or recipes.
  • Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors.
  • Modify cooking and forming operations based on the results of sampling processes, adjusting processing to achieve desired qualities, such as firmness or texture.
  • Manipulate products, by hand or using machines, to separate, spread, or roll products.
  • Inspect and pack the final product.
  • Clean and sterilize vats and factory processing areas.
  • Memorize product attributes and become proficient at sharing the information.
  • Learn and execute proper interaction with potential customers.
  • Prepping and setting up displays for sampling stations.
  • Understand and execute food safety procedures when sampling, including personal hygiene.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to follow FDA guidelines.

Benefits

  • $17/hr pay rate.
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
