The Production Operations Server Administration role is a critical position within a prestigious financial company, focusing on providing first-level support for various systems and applications. This position operates on the 2nd shift, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and is eligible for bonuses. The primary responsibility of the Production Server Operations Administrator is to ensure the smooth operation of production systems by identifying and resolving incidents with minimal supervision. The candidate will be expected to make decisions independently while assisting the Operations Manager in maintaining adequate staff coverage and performing managerial duties in their absence. In this role, the administrator will employ first-level incident identification and resolution techniques to address interruptions across multiple platforms, including Mainframe, UNIX, Windows, and Network systems. The candidate will monitor various applications and systems using approved software, responding to alerts in accordance with established Quality Standards and Security Policies. Documentation of processing anomalies and maintaining processing records and logs are essential tasks. The administrator will escalate production incidents to second-level support as necessary, ensuring timely resolutions and adherence to service level agreements. Additionally, the role involves performing Mainframe IPLs and executing system commands, supporting transmissions across SFTP/NDM, and troubleshooting UC4 jobs. The administrator will also provide support for production installations, disaster recovery, and industry tests, while maintaining off-site storage records and shipments. The position requires the ability to rerun or restart failed backups and perform restores when necessary. The candidate must be willing to work scheduled overtime to ensure 24/7 coverage and must adhere to all production operations policies and procedures. A focus on continuous improvement opportunities is also expected, along with assisting management in updating and maintaining current procedures.
