About the position
The Production Operator role at STS Group involves operating machinery to manufacture high-quality automotive products in a new facility in Salem, Virginia. This position is crucial for the successful launch of the plant and offers opportunities for growth as the operations expand. The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to meet customer requirements in production quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Begin production as scheduled at the start of the shift.
- Ensure all manufacturing equipment is safe to operate and that all guards and stop buttons are functioning prior to beginning production.
- Complete checklists or operator production sheets prior to and at the end of production.
- Manufacture products ensuring that all finished goods meet customer requirements in quality, quantity, and proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and throughout the plant.
- Follow APPS and Lean Manufacturing directives and instructions.
- Understand and comprehend operational work instructions.
- Work necessary overtime, which may include weekend work.
- Demonstrate good attendance and a dependable record from previous employers.
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds overhead as needed.
- Stand for long periods of time.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- 3 years of previous manufacturing experience.
- Ability to operate a forklift (preferred).

- Forklift license (preferred).
