About the position

The Production Operator for the 3rd shift at Prestone Products Corporation is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the production line, maintaining safety and quality standards, and performing various tasks related to the forming and handling of cardboard products. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Properly load correct cardboard for cartons and dividers into former machine
• Monitor forming process and dispose of any incorrectly formed cartons following disposal/recycling guidelines
• Bail scrap cardboard during and at the end of the scheduled shift
• Safe operation of bailer equipment
• Remove banding from cardboard stacks and dispose of strapping using appropriate methods of disposal
• Monitor and comply with all changeover requirements to eliminate carton waste
• Perform quality checks including entering data into computer software proficiently
• Maintain clean, safe, and efficient workstations - dispose of trash in correct disposal methods
• Ability to start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues
• Support all changeover requirements of commodity product
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of high school degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
• Ability to stand and walk for periods of time
• Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required
• Able to lift to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift
• Basic math skills
• Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)
• Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities preferred
