About the position

The Production Operator position at Arkema's Wauwatosa, WI location involves the production, inspection, and packaging of products according to specific batch formulations. The operator will utilize various mixing, blending, and packaging equipment while adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality procedures to ensure the safe production of high-quality products. This role requires the operator to accurately record material usage both manually and via computer, ensuring that all process batch sheets are filled out correctly. The position operates on a day shift from 7 am to 3 pm, with the possibility of working until 5 pm depending on production needs. In this role, the operator will follow detailed process batch sheets to produce products that meet prescribed standards. It is essential to adhere to all plant policies, practices, and procedures to meet safety, quality, service, and cost objectives. Continuous quality improvement is a key focus, and participation in Bostik's Safety programs is required to achieve the goal of Zero Incidents. The operator will monitor and adjust equipment as necessary to ensure safe and efficient operations, working cooperatively with all employees and leadership to meet plant and shift objectives. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to manage simultaneous competing priorities effectively. Operators must maintain a high level of housekeeping in their work area and the facility, completing all required paperwork accurately and legibly. The role involves operating various pieces of equipment, including lamination and packaging equipment, forklifts, palletizers, and basic hand tools. Computer controls will be used to operate equipment, and participation in continuous improvement projects and Kaizen events is expected. Operators may also rotate to other work functions as required by process flow, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, inspect, and package products per batch formulations utilizing various mixing, blending, and packaging equipment.
  • Follow all EHS and Quality procedures to safely produce quality product.
  • Record manually and via computer all material usage, accurately fill out process batch sheets.
  • Adhere to all plant policies, practices, and procedures to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.
  • Practice continuous quality improvement in all processes.
  • Participate in Bostik's Safety programs to achieve the objective of safe behavior and the goal of Zero Incidents.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment as necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Work cooperatively with all employees and leadership to meet plant/shift objectives.
  • Maintain and improve the level of housekeeping in the work area and facility.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read English and perform basic math skills.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Ability to operate automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Willingness to work an off shift and overtime as necessary.
