About the position

The Production Operator IV role at Continental involves operating BM Machines to produce parts according to specified equipment standards and work instructions. The operator is responsible for ensuring quality compliance, documenting production processes, and assisting in training lower-level operators. This position requires attention to detail and effective communication with supervisors regarding production concerns.

Responsibilities

• Operate BM Machines according to certification for all workstations/cells to produce parts in accordance with equipment specifications, SOP's, and Work Instructions.
• Ensure machine vent waste and tail scrap is disposed in designated bins.
• Complete all necessary production and quality documentation.
• Monitor equipment to ensure the produced parts are within compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
• Communicate quality or production concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
• Perform in-process visual and instrumented inspections.
• Document inspection results as described in the Inspection Instruction and Failure Catalogue.
• Assist in on-the-job training of Blow Mold Machine Lv.1 and 2 operators.
• Ensure operation of production equipment aligns with daily and weekly production plans.
• Notify Supervision of any significant deviations from the daily production plan immediately.
• Ensure proper identification of all materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods with labels.
• Participate in auditing processes as required.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities.
• Update production information and GEMBA performance, supporting the Lead Operator as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1.5+ years experience in production.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Certification for BMN Machine Training Level 1, 2 and 3 required in BM area or training competency.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Good attention to detail.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Good communication skills required.
• Ability to work as a part of a team.
