About the position

As a Wafer Fab Operator at Qorvo, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of semiconductor materials, specifically in the fabrication of integrated circuits on wafers. This position is integral to the operations of our Wafer Fab plant located in Richardson, TX, where we focus on delivering high-quality and efficient manufacturing solutions. You will be part of a dedicated team that works under the guidance of a Manufacturing Supervisor, ensuring that our production meets the high standards expected by our industry-leading customers in wireless devices and network solutions. Your responsibilities will include performing various operations that are essential to the wafer fabrication process. This involves setting up and operating specialized tools and chemical processes, collecting and entering data, conducting electrical testing of devices, and performing quality inspections. Safety, quality, and efficiency are paramount in this role, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety policies and procedures while executing your tasks. The position requires a commitment to working a compressed schedule, with 12-hour shifts that may include night work. In this role, you will rely on your strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and attention to detail. You will perform manual operations on wafer fabrication equipment, handle chemicals, conduct microscope inspections, and process wafers according to strict specifications. Communication is key, as you will attend shift pass-down meetings to discuss daily activities and updates. Additionally, you may assist process engineers with experimental procedures and update documentation as needed. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a dynamic work environment where you can grow and develop your skills in semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual operations on wafer fabrication equipment.
  • Handle chemicals and conduct microscope inspections.
  • Run precision equipment and process wafers to comply with specifications.
  • Attend shift pass-down meetings and communicate daily activities.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow required safety policies.
  • Assist process engineers in performing experimental procedures as needed.
  • Update documentation on procedures on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Clean room, semiconductor manufacturing, or technical manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral; ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Solid fundamental Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
  • Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts and lift 10+ lbs.
  • Ability to complete tasks requiring careful handling while learning through on-the-job training.
  • Strong work ethics in terms of attendance, organization, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, gowning up in coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
