About The Position

This is a position for molding and/or secondary operations. Performs duties required in metal injection molding (MIM) and/or secondary operations. Produces and inspects parts to be shipped to the customers.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of how to use various measuring tools.
• Working knowledge of the MIM process and secondary operations.
• Skill in learning and applying knowledge in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Demonstrated skill in documenting results of work effort.
• Skill in performing work which requires eye/hand coordination.
• Visual acuity skills to detect flaws in the parts being produced.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written; must read and speak English.
• Adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Willingness and ability to operate metal injection molding machines efficiently and safely.
• Willingness and ability to work assigned hours including required overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks required in the production of metal parts using MIM knowledge and skills.
• Visually inspect or use measuring devices to ensure all parts meet customer specifications and quality criteria.
• Learn and apply material handling procedures for small and large hoppers.
• Complete and maintain documentation on parts neatly and accurately.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, asking questions as necessary.
• Accurately input data and information into the computer system.
• Utilize basic mathematical skills to track and record numeric items with accuracy and efficiency.
• Cross train in both molding operations and secondary operations.
• Operate a metal injection molding machine as per established cycles and procedures.
• Maintain the mold in a clean and operational condition.
• Learn material designation meaning, material handling procedures, and part acceptance and rejection criteria.
• Extract and handle molded parts with precision and care.
• Record pertinent information regarding parts being produced on required forms.
• Visually inspect parts for defects and forward them for regrinding, scrapping, or shipping.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment adhering to safety procedures.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
