About the position

The Production Performance Manager at Octopi Brewing LLC plays a crucial role in implementing the Asahi Management system to enhance the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQDCME) performance of the brewery. This position is designed to leverage existing reporting and digitalization capabilities, along with lean management tools and methodologies, to achieve operational excellence. The manager will coordinate a comprehensive strategy for operational performance management and continuous improvement across all production areas, including the Supply Chain organization. This role is pivotal in leading the digitalization of operations, acting as a bridge between operational functions, site leadership, and digital/IT teams to deliver necessary tools and reports that support the processes. In addition to overseeing the implementation of the Asahi Way Management System, the Production Performance Manager will be responsible for building and coaching the Asahi Way Road-Map tailored to the brewery's specific priorities. This includes managing the assessment of the Asahi Way maturity within the plant and distribution center, conducting brewery loss analysis, and coordinating implementation plans across all departments. The manager will also focus on developing personnel capabilities through training and coaching, ensuring that competency gaps are addressed effectively. The role requires planning and anticipating internal and external resources, proposing budgets for Asahi Way implementation, and facilitating change initiatives. The manager will work to improve plant effectiveness by deploying solutions that enhance productivity, safety, quality, and reliability, thereby fostering a performance-driven culture. Additionally, the Production Performance Manager will coordinate the Performance Management system, monitor plant savings programs, and drive a culture of continuous improvement through performance reviews and benchmarking initiatives. This position is integral to standardizing best practices and building knowledge around Focus Improvement, particularly in problem-solving techniques. The manager will also be responsible for coordinating the development of technical competencies in alignment with HR functions, ensuring adherence to PPE and GMP requirements, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the Asahi Way Management System (Lean) across production areas to improve operational SQDCME targets.
  • Build, implement, coach, and follow up on the Asahi Way Road-Map based on brewery priorities.
  • Manage the assessment of the Asahi Way maturity in the plant and distribution center.
  • Accountable for brewery loss analysis and coordinate Asahi Way Implementation plans for all departments.
  • Develop plant personnel capability on management fundamentals through training and coaching.
  • Plan and anticipate required resources and propose a budget for Asahi Way implementation.
  • Facilitate implementation of change initiatives under defined change management processes.
  • Improve plant effectiveness through solutions that enhance productivity, safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Coordinate the Performance Management system in the plant, including KPI tree and digital platforms.
  • Monitor the plant savings program and collaborate with Finance to deliver savings.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture through performance reviews and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Coordinate sharing and implementation of best practice initiatives across departments.
  • Build knowledge around Focus Improvement and validate competencies of key users.
  • Create a bridge between operation teams and digital/IT teams to escalate issues and coordinate simplification and digitalization activities.
  • Organize and coordinate the development of technical competencies programs with relevant SMEs.

Requirements

  • Six Sigma Certification
  • 5+ years of management experience in an organizational unit
  • 5+ years of experience in lean management within a global company
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Familiarity with adult education concepts and training approaches
  • Knowledge of common IT systems with a focus on information visualization
  • Previous experience in a consumer packaged goods environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and development skills
  • Data management and analytics capabilities
  • Ability to manage by influence and problem-solve effectively
