About the position

The Production/Warehouse Person at Farwest Steel Corporation is responsible for pulling and loading materials onto trailers for delivery while ensuring quality control and safety compliance. This full-time, on-site role emphasizes teamwork, customer satisfaction, and efficient material handling in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Pulling material and filling orders for delivery while ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Performing quality control checks on materials, including confirming piece counts and types of material.
• Efficiently moving material from trucks and railcars and restocking racks according to company procedures.
• Assisting machine operators and preparing parts for packaging and delivery.
• Operating warehouse machinery, including forklifts and overhead cranes, as needed.
• Attending safety and production meetings and monitoring tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Assisting will-call customers by loading their materials professionally.
• Supporting sales staff with warehouse and inventory inquiries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of warehouse experience, including forklift and/or overhead crane operation.
• Understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Customer service orientation.
• Basic math skills and ability to read standard English and metric tapes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a similar warehouse role.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and DOT standards.
