About the position

The Production Planner at DEUTZ is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing the company's productive capacity. This role involves collaboration with the Production Planning Manager and team members to fulfill production orders effectively. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, release and close production orders to align with demand signals.
  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Improve effective scheduling processes using capacity planning tools.
  • Analyze sales order releases concerning capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Respond to termination or cancellation requests from Sales.
  • Review in-process orders from the production floor.
  • Receive and review sales orders against current requirements and work in process.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing department, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
  • Review master production schedule and work orders.
  • Establish and adjust priorities for specific customer orders.
  • Release work orders to departments with details on production units.
  • Revise schedules according to work order specifications and availability of resources.
  • Support the processing of Prototype builds as required.
  • Provide support to the NPI process and area Supervisor for new processes.
  • Establish work order start dates and communicate adjustments to relevant personnel.
  • Update late delivery reports with root causes weekly.
  • Establish economic order quantities and adjust part number internal lead times as needed.
  • Provide support in the training of employees.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 1-2 years of production planning experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong strategy skills to improve and promote quality.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to prioritize work activities.
  • Strong cost consciousness and ability to work within approved budgets.
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Knowledge of MRP II, MS Office, and ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Cell and TQM processes.
