About the position

The Production Planner at Refresco is responsible for managing materials purchase orders and delivery tracking, as well as planning production based on customer demand. This role aims to meet customer expectations while maintaining safety stock levels and efficiency in the manufacturing plant. The Production Planner also creates stock transfer orders for products shipped but not produced in the facility, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule Materials PO's/Releases following Finished Goods (FG) production schedule priorities, respecting Safety stocks and lead times.
  • Track Materials On the Road (OTR) and conduct daily commodity ordering reviews.
  • Manage run-downs of material stock due to graphic changes or product discontinuations.
  • Align FG Production Scheduling with Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) and minimum order requirements.
  • Release process orders to the manufacturing floor based on the production schedule.
  • Adjust order quantities based on changes in demand to support production requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for scheduling or material variances.
  • Input production run rates and downtime into SAP and S&OP processes.
  • Initiate and track Destruction of Material Requests (DOMR) for obsolete materials.
  • Track customer bill backs for DOMR'd materials when appropriate.
  • Review SAP master data from an analytical perspective and suggest changes for efficiencies.
  • Initiate requests to change or delist materials and track through completion.
  • Assist with coordination of ACE projects to completion related to Supply Chain and MRP settings.
  • Lead production meetings to discuss the daily and weekly production schedule and resolve issues.
  • Work on Continuous improvement projects and cross-functional teams to enhance plant efficiencies and planning processes.
  • Provide backup for secondary manufacturing facility or lines.
  • Manage Stock Transfer Orders (STO's).
  • Monitor fill rate, production attainment, aged inventory, days of supply (DOS), safety stock, and FG transfers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in food/beverage manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain is highly desirable.
  • Three (3) plus years of SAP experience is preferred.
  • APICs Certification is a plus.
  • Data-driven and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team player across multiple functions.
  • Ability to work under pressure with limited guidance and make informed decisions.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.
  • Consistently delivers results and demonstrates personal initiative.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures and commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Working knowledge of Planning tools and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and SAP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in food/beverage manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • APICs Certification is a plus.
