About the position

The Production Planner at L3Harris is responsible for ensuring that project deliverables are completed on schedule by interfacing with multiple departments and organizations. This role requires a highly developed individual contributor who works autonomously and may mentor lower-level peers. The position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to an evolving workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze material configuration and job order status using Windows-based computer systems and software.
  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Coordinate and negotiate workflow through multiple work centers to secure needed resources while meeting changing customer demands and schedule deadlines.
  • Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, and communication support.
  • Ensure availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments, resolving material shortages and backlogs.
  • Identify and create goals that lead to the successful completion of project deliverables within the allotted time.
  • Perform detailed schedule, risk, and continuous improvement based analysis to identify, develop, and drive solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Highly developed job knowledge and skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project or program execution techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
