About the position

The Manager of Production Planning & Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing the supply chain operations at the Stephenville Coated Abrasives plant. This role involves managing production planning, scheduling activities, and coordinating the Receiving, Warehousing, Material handling, and Shipping functions. The objective is to ensure effective operations that align with the plant's goals for safety, production efficiency, quality, service, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the plant S&OP process and results, developing plans to align resources with customer demand.
  • Manage production plans and inventory levels for semi-finished products to support on-time production of finished goods.
  • Maintain relationships with North American and Affiliate customers to ensure data and processes support operations.
  • Collaborate with Central Supply Chain department and product management to develop production plans for demand variation.
  • Manage production control staff performance and development.
  • Support the development and maintenance of MRP processes and parameters.
  • Ensure safe daily operations of Warehouse and Shipping Teams, adhering to strict policies.
  • Manage process flow and plan for adequate resources and equipment for efficient operations.
  • Coordinate the disposition and disposal of slow-moving and obsolete inventories.
  • Manage Warehouse and Shipping supervision and staff performance and development needs.
  • Identify, lead, and participate in continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering discipline required; Master's or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of supply chain experience in materials/production scheduling, logistics, and warehousing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading and managing team members' development and performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems (MRP); SAP preferred.
  • Expertise in inventory control and forecasting required.
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficient in computer use, spreadsheets, and data visualization software; experience with business systems (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to develop business strategies based on unit and site requirements preferred.
  • Effective interaction across organizational levels is critical.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, lead, and train across business units on supply chain processes preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge in manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial concepts: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cost Accounting, Cash Flow, Capital Management, and Budgeting preferred.
