About the position

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for the comprehensive implementation and execution of the production planning and optimization process for a designated product family. This role involves generating a weekly production schedule and conducting thorough analyses to ensure alignment among commercial, supply chain, and operational assets. The manager will also be tasked with managing and updating production planning and optimization tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. A key focus of this position is to drive the optimization of supply, production, and logistics, which includes managing inventory levels, minimizing yield loss, and improving energy efficiencies to maximize the company's profitability. In addition to overseeing the production planning process, the Production Planning Manager will lead and manage all aspects of detailed outage planning. This includes aligning the interests of commercial, operational, and supply chain teams to create an executable operating plan for the product family. The manager will monitor, track, and report on critical inventories, ensuring that all planning and scheduling tools are maintained and improved for increased accuracy and enhanced business performance. Coordination and balancing of the needs of manufacturing, commercial, and supply chain departments will be essential, as will the ability to adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Furthermore, the Production Planning Manager will develop strategic planning and supply chain business analyses to support and assess business needs. This includes optimizing inventories, evaluating cost improvement initiatives, and removing constraints to support growth initiatives. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of production planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall implementation and execution of the production planning process.
  • Generate weekly production schedules and conduct analyses to ensure alignment of commercial, supply chain, and operational assets.
  • Manage and update production planning tools for a product family.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the production planning and detailed outage planning processes.
  • Drive optimization of supply, production, and logistics, including inventory management, yield loss reduction, and energy efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor, track, and report critical inventories.
  • Maintain and improve planning and scheduling tools for increased accuracy and improved business performance.
  • Coordinate and balance the needs of manufacturing, commercial, and supply chain departments.
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Develop strategic planning and supply chain business analyses to support business needs and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of diversified work experience in areas such as Plant Operations, Product Management, Inventory Management, Planning and Analysis, or Supply Chain Operations.
  • Practical knowledge of plant operations and logistics networks.
