About the position

The Production Quality Technician role at thyssenkrupp Presta North America involves ensuring the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. This entry-level position focuses on planning and conducting inspections, tests, and analyses to maintain high-quality standards in production. The technician will actively contribute to reducing failure costs and will be responsible for documenting quality assurance activities and communicating results effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, and tests to assure the quality of products.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Contributes actively to the reduction of failure costs like scrap, downtime, and rework.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Documents quality assurance activities, issues, and solutions in LISP.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government, customer, and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Stops production in case of a non-conformity.
  • Supports production in case of quality issues, which are supplier or process related.
  • Tracks and manages storage and flow of nonconforming and suspect material.
  • Supports production in the assembly of high-quality products while achieving all SQDC targets by representing Quality in SQDC.
  • Applies problem-solving methodology to ongoing issues on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Database software; MS Office software package, SAP-enterprise resource planning software quality module, Lotus Notes Applications, QS-STAT software tool, Z-Point, PLM software, Gage Track.
  • Knowledge of the usage of test equipment like hand gages, comparator, plug gages, various test stands, basic CMM handling, and basic metrology.
  • Capability to interpret and read drawings of parts/assemblies.
