Production Scheduler

About the position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and preparing the production schedule for multiple work centers to manufacture finished goods that meet customer demands. This role involves establishing the sequence and lead time of operations to ensure timely shipping in accordance with plant capacity and sales forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Develop schedule to establish order of production to meet shipping dates according to work order and sales order due dates for the plant.
• Release work orders to support daily production schedule.
• Adjust schedule as needed based upon unforeseen materials or equipment/capacity issues.
• Confer with shift supervisors to determine status of assigned work orders as needed.
• Work closely with Purchasing to ensure that raw materials will be available for production in a timely manner to achieve on time shipment of product.
• Inform Customer Service of any issues or changes with the schedule.
• Work closely with Production Planner to establish and understand plant Capacity Requirement Planning.
• Work with Product Development and Sales Forecast teams with regards to launching of New Products and target volume.
• Report status of open orders during the daily outbound meeting.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0 to 2 years Production Planning and Master Scheduling experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in Food/Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods Industry preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented with proven accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with a computerized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, etc.
• Strong analytical experience in MS Office.
• Extensive Excel spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large amounts of data.
