About the position

The Production Scheduler at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. is responsible for scheduling and administering orders to ensure customer commitments are met and production flows smoothly. This role involves planning, scheduling, and directing the flow of work and materials within the Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) to meet production demands, while preparing and revising schedules based on material availability and production capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and administer orders to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct the flow of work and material within CPSD.
  • Prepare, monitor, and revise schedules according to availability of materials, resources, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate activities of Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, and Inventory to meet production schedules.
  • Work with Logistics to move necessary items from offsite storage to the production location.
  • Represent Production in project meetings to identify special requirements and inadequate information.
  • Review and schedule new jobs using the order schedule and maintain the order schedule in the Syteline business system.
  • Plan and prepare production schedules to meet customer site dates based on labor and material constraints.
  • Work with Inside Sales to determine incorrect or unattainable customer site dates and adjust sales orders accordingly.
  • Review manufactured items required by MRP and maintain inventory jobs.
  • Keep MRP parameters accurate and current.
  • Coordinate sub-assembly jobs and shippable requirements to meet the production schedule.
  • Create and maintain reports, summaries, and analyses to show production schedule adherence.
  • Evaluate scheduling tools and methods, recommend process improvements, and implement upgrades to production scheduling techniques.
  • Communicate with department members regarding incoming parts, parts changes, shortages, and delivery schedules.
  • Investigate deviations from the production schedule and follow up on issues.
  • Review customer change notices and confirm necessary changes are made.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business or technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling/control or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with suppliers and employees.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP systems.
