About the position

The Production Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in Supply Chain Planning at Cummins Inc., specifically within the Upfit Center in Ankeny, IA. This position is responsible for developing and establishing production schedules that align with customer demand while maximizing production efficiency and capacity. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to optimize raw material strategies and ensure timely delivery of production schedules, all while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and establish production schedules to meet customer demand.
• Align and optimize raw material stocking strategies with Material Planners.
• Manage work in process (WIP) with Operations and finished goods (FG) stocking strategies with Materials Department and Customer Service.
• Take ownership of the production schedule delivery, understanding risks to minimize impact.
• Collect Master Data to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
• Identify problematic areas and suggest process improvements.
• Enter pre-approved changes to the production schedule within the time fence.
• Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report any issues to supervisors.
• Communicate effectively within the team and supporting departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• 1 to 4 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of production scheduling and supply chain processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
