About the position

The Production Scheduling Coordinator at Cummins Inc. plays a crucial role in the Supply Chain Planning team, focusing on developing and establishing production schedules that align with customer demand while maximizing efficiency and capacity. This position requires collaboration with various departments to optimize raw material stocking strategies and ensure timely delivery of production schedules, all while adhering to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and establish production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Align and optimize raw material stocking strategies with Material Planners.
  • Manage work in process (WIP) with Operations and finished goods (FG) stocking strategies with Materials Department and Customer Service.
  • Take ownership of the production schedule delivery, understanding risks to minimize impact.
  • Collect Master Data to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
  • Identify problematic areas and suggest process improvements.
  • Enter pre-approved changes to the production schedule as needed.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report any issues.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and supporting departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 to 4 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of production scheduling and supply chain processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a production cell environment.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
