About the position

CRD MFG is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduling, Purchasing, and Logistics Coordinator to oversee material procurement, inventory management, and production scheduling. This role is essential for ensuring that materials are available when needed, production timelines are adhered to, and logistics are efficiently managed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, a high sense of accountability, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely arrival of materials and negotiate cost-effective procurement terms.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align material needs with project timelines and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and proactively monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance, addressing issues that may impact production or customer commitments.
  • Utilize scheduling tools to develop and maintain production schedules that optimize capacity across work centers.
  • Adapt production schedules in response to changes such as machine downtime or workforce availability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to manage late jobs and minimize disruptions.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Work with freight and transportation providers to streamline logistics and troubleshoot delivery issues.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices and conduct regular audits of inventory.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in purchasing, production scheduling, logistics coordination, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing complex schedules and inventory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory management software, or production scheduling tools is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with 5S logistics practices.
