As a Production Services Application Support Engineer at BNY Mellon, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall availability, reliability, and defect prevention of our systems. This position is part of the Production Services - Middle Office platform team, which operates in a hybrid model from Lake Mary, FL, and Pittsburgh, PA. Your responsibilities will include responding to, diagnosing, and resolving service disruptions, as well as identifying, defining, and implementing necessary monitoring and automation solutions. You will work closely with developers to facilitate continuous integration and continuous delivery solutions, and conduct root cause analysis for complex production issues. In addition to these responsibilities, you will review and evaluate project plans and objectives to ensure they align with system needs, monitor changes to applications and their operating environments, and create and maintain support documentation and procedures. The role requires the ability to handle time-sensitive issues in support of critical service level commitments and contribute to the achievement of area objectives. You should be prepared to work weekends as needed. To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus, along with knowledge of supporting Middle Office trade processing and trade flow. You will be responsible for reconciling and validating trade capture and day trading activity in a timely and accurate manner, coordinating with front office and other support teams to address trade-related inquiries and issues. Your analytical and data-driven experience will be essential in supporting applications that are part of the Trade Lifecycle. You should also have experience in deployment and strong debugging skills in Docker, familiarity with IBM MQ/messaging and Rabbit MQ middleware queues, and proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Java, and .NET framework applications. Experience with PostgreSQL databases and writing complex SQL queries is required, as well as familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, and Grafana. Knowledge of ITIL Service Management will also be beneficial.
