Production Shift Manager

About the position

The Production Shift Manager at Novolex is responsible for overseeing an assigned area within the manufacturing facility, focusing on safety, production output, cost management, quality of finished goods, and employee management. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to safety protocols, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and leading production shift supervisors to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Participate and support a safe work environment by following all facility safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures for all employees and visitors.
• Champion the Human Performance (HP) initiative, ensuring effective implementation of this methodology in the plant.
• Monitor and maintain KPIs on productivity and budget/cost management.
• Develop, lead, and support Production Shift Supervisors.
• Complete and present production day reports.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of operations/production management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with operational tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Computer and math skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented.
