About the position
The Production Specialist (Underwriter) role at AIG focuses on underwriting new and renewal business for the LexPro brand, aiming to drive profitable growth. This position is ideal for individuals with some insurance experience or those with transferable skills looking to enter the underwriting field. The role emphasizes building relationships with brokers, assessing risk, and providing excellent service to facilitate business growth.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal business for the LexPro brand.
- Assess the desirability of risk through regular contact with brokers.
- Coordinate closely with AIG subject matter experts.
- Review claims history and general company information.
- Provide excellent service to brokers with a proactive approach to underwriting.
- Generate new business by expanding the broker network and attending broker events.
- Provide accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.
Requirements
- Some underwriting experience preferred, but other relevant professional experience is welcome.
- Ability to analyze financial statements.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Customer and sales-oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
