Responsibilities

  • Supervise all the production and sanitation activities through the various shift leadspersons.
  • Train, direct and motivate TEAM members to achieve department goals and standards on yield, quality, productivity and safety.
  • Meet department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
  • Develop and train TEAM members, working within the guidelines of the union contract and company policies.
  • Monitor standards and indexes needed to control area of responsibility.
  • Provide quick and timely feedback to supervisor on all exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance is done on all equipment in area of control and interface with immediate Supervisor on suggested changes to improve job efficiency, profitability and safety.
  • Conduct safety orientations and hold safety/general meetings as required.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the food processing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge.
  • Ability to evaluate line TEAM members fairly and objectively.
  • Ability to interface daily with all support groups or departments.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
