About the position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operational activities within assigned departments to ensure the production of high-quality products that meet customer requirements and schedules. This role involves supervising staff, managing workflow, providing technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position reports directly to the Manager of Production.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the assigned unit through effective selection, training, and evaluation of team members.
  • Schedules and assigns work within the unit to regulate workflow and meet required schedules.
  • Provides technical assistance, supervision, and hands-on operation to drive process improvements.
  • Identifies problems in product, equipment, quality, safety, and employee relations.
  • Conducts monthly toolbox safety meetings and orders safety products as needed.
  • Participates in engineering projects, SPC, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for machinery yearly calibrations, scheduling, audits, and customer requests.
  • Updates departmental procedures and maintains employee training records.
  • Conducts 5S Audits and ensures timely responses to MQC's and internal CAR responses.
  • Monitors and approves attendance in KRONOS, including scheduled PTO, and ensures adherence to the Attendance Policy.
  • Generates and handles hazardous wastes as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.
  • Communicates safety or environmental concerns to management and recommends solutions.
  • Responsible for environmental, safety, and general housekeeping of the department.
  • Reports all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns, and participates in safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus five years of related leadership experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, preferably with printed circuit board assembly processes.
  • Good interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and procedures.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to multitask while leading by example.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with printed circuit board assembly processes is desired.
