About the position

We are seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to lead and manage our 3rd Shift (Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays 9:00 pm - 5:30 am) operations at our chemical manufacturing facility. In this role, you will ensure that production processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of quality. You'll be responsible for equipment performance, staff training, and documentation, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Production Manager & Site Engineer to implement improvement strategies that will help the site perform more effectively
• Evaluate individual team member's performances and develop their skills to align with personal/company goals through coaching
• Keep abreast of the supervisorial and technical competencies within the industry
• Establish line performance standards and goals on his/her shift, monitor, make necessary corrective actions, and report outcomes
• Lead the hiring, training, retraining, development, and motivation of production team on his/her shift with a minimum degree of guidance from the Production Manager
• Practice firm but fair discipline: Ensures that all company regulations, policies, and rules are followed
• Direct the work team and supervise the shift's production to meet published schedules
• Maintain a consistently safe work environment and personally demonstrate commitment to safety and compliance
• Achieve consistent quality and high efficiency levels by optimum utilization of equipment and manpower
• Ensure efficient coordination and processing of a high volume of work orders and develop and maintain a very close and effective working relationship with all other departments
• Ensure that production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost, and quality objectives
• Direct involvement with improving operating efficiencies, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends, and taking timely corrective actions
• Hold employees accountable for always maintaining an inspection ready workplace
• Ensure that proper levels of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety and Housekeeping rules are maintained and that regulatory requirements are always met

Requirements

• 3 or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing field
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Strong knowledge of lean, six sigma tools and problem-solving methodology
• Strong belief in teamwork and cross training
• Drive to achieve key performance metrics and for continuous improvement
• Encourages excellence in others through being a positive influence in the development of team
• Customer focus, meets expectations, internally and externally, forms partnerships
• Strong communication skills
