About the position
The Production Supervisor for the Machine Shop at Hitachi Global Air Power is responsible for leading a team of production employees in the manufacturing of compressed air solutions. This role emphasizes operational safety, quality, and productivity, requiring effective communication across all organizational levels. The supervisor will engage in continuous improvement activities and ensure that production targets are met efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Communicate daily production targets and exceptions with the production employees.
- Provide the daily schedule of work for each production cell for first and second shifts.
- Assign team members and adjust workflow based on size of work team and customer priorities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for continuous improvement activities.
- Engage team members and develop best practices within areas of responsibility.
- Identify gaps in safety, quality and production processes and develop actions to close gaps.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Operations Management or Equivalent Experience
- 2-5+ years of supervisory/lead experience
- Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and lead both hourly and professional associates.
- Have a critical eye for improvement in all areas of responsibility.
- Ability to multi-task and work on various projects at the same time.
- Operations experience in manufacturing is required.
- Experience in a CNC machine shop is a plus.
