About The Position

The Production Supervisor-Quality position at Ford Motor Company is a part-time supervisory leadership role focused on ensuring safety, quality, and productivity within the manufacturing environment. This role involves coaching team members, addressing quality issues, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The position is supported by on-the-job training and offers opportunities for career progression, although it is classified as supplemental and may not be eligible for all benefits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory and/or manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in difficult and stressful situations
  • Two-way communicator who actively listens to hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement, while applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput.

Nice To Haves

  • Body shop/stamping/paint/subassembly experience preferred
  • Safety and Quality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce

Responsibilities

  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
  • React immediately to quality issues.
  • Initiate sort/purge/contain activities as needed.
  • Monitor andon occurrences and be the first responder to quality concerns as they arise.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level of the organization.
  • Build Team Member capability and create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks.
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
  • Optimize outputs in accordance with budgets and cost objectives.
  • Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently.
  • Support concern resolution with cross-functional teams, including the Quality department, production, and suppliers.
