About the position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment, ensuring that production methods, equipment, and operating procedures are effectively implemented. This role involves planning and assigning work, supervising daily activities, and coordinating work schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality and cost standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
• Plan and assign work to ensure production efficiency.
• Implement policies and procedures related to production methods and equipment.
• Monitor and report on the operations of respective departments.
• Ensure effective employee relations and provide coaching and development.
• Make employment-related decisions alongside management and human resources.
• Work continuously to improve quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale.
• Manage departmental performance measures and provide progress reports to senior leadership.
• Perform accident-related investigations alongside the plant's Safety Manager.
• Maintain proper inventory levels and manage departmental priorities.
• Assist human resources in tracking absenteeism and employee timekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Typically requires 5+ years specific manufacturing experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the overall organizational function from a site-specific standpoint.
• Knowledge of manufacturing/industry specific procedures and terminology.
