Production Supervisor

About the position

This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the seat assembly department at Magna Seating. The role focuses on managing resources and personnel to meet safety objectives, production schedules, and productivity targets while ensuring the production of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production employees to maintain a safe, efficient, and orderly workplace.
• Encourage a quality-driven workforce to achieve company goals and improve first run capability.
• Ensure adherence to the Magna Employee Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operation Principles.
• Practice open and honest dialogue with employees regarding plant policies and principles.
• Proactively address and resolve issues before they escalate, ensuring fair and consistent actions.
• Act as a change agent to achieve continuous improvement goals established by management.
• Lead by example in promoting safety and enforcing safety rules and procedures.
• Complete additional tasks and projects as directed by leadership.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a business-related field or engineering.
• Two years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills with knowledge of personal computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, and database development.
• Knowledge of JIT communication devices and MRP systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Supervisory experience in a JIT environment is highly desired.
