About the position

The Production Supervisor will lead production operations in a fast-paced baking manufacturing facility, ensuring top-quality products, efficient workflows, and a safe working environment. This role requires hands-on supervision and strong leadership skills to inspire a high-performing team and drive excellence in food production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production line employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate daily production schedules to meet company goals, optimize resource allocation, and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards, implementing and monitoring quality control processes.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and other food safety regulations; conduct regular safety training and audits.
  • Track production KPIs (e.g., efficiency, yield, waste), reporting on performance and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Quickly address any production issues or mechanical breakdowns, working with maintenance as needed to minimize disruptions.
  • Oversee raw materials and finished goods inventory, ensuring efficient usage and timely reordering.
  • Lead initiatives to improve production processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of food production processes, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, organization, and effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • HACCP, OSHA, or other relevant certifications preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
