About the position

The Production Supervisor at Ultium Cells will be part of a technical team responsible for overseeing engineering work related to continuous improvement, troubleshooting equipment and manufacturing issues, and analyzing production results. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, coordinating team activities, and supporting employee training in a highly automated manufacturing environment focused on lithium-ion battery production.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance for plant safety and environmental regulations
  • Support Team Members and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Collaborate with other leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
  • Support and train team to inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Support employee training through demonstrating equipment operations, safety procedures and quality expectations
  • Support and facilitate team-based problem solving
  • Observe key performance indicators of work area; monitor gauges, dials, and equipment performance other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
  • Confer with leadership and team to resolve work force concerns and to employee engagement
  • Interpret specifications, part and assembly drawings, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing equipment, including a basic understanding of machine controls
  • +3 Years Industrial Leadership - Supervision Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of quality processes and implementation methods
  • Knowledge of electricity, electrical products, raw materials, production processes, automated equipment, and manufacturing cost reduction techniques
  • Minimum +3 years Industrial experience- supervisory experience required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries is preferred
