About the position

The Production Supervisor at Foremost Farms USA is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing production associates in the manufacturing of cheese and other dairy products. This position involves managing schedules, training employees, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The supervisor will also participate in cross-functional teams to foster a culture of operational excellence and innovation within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Production Associates in prioritizing duties, delegating work assignments, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate sanitation reviews with chemical suppliers and facilitate sanitation-related employee training.
  • Ensure all quality standards and procedures are maintained.
  • Develop instructional work guides and oversee training of employees in processes and methods to achieve quality, quantity, and safety standards.
  • Assist in regulatory inspections and customer audits.
  • Coordinate special plant-wide functions such as production planning and scheduling, sanitation, and safety.
  • Act as a technical resource for inquiries and problems regarding production, quality, and work issues.
  • Complete production paperwork including records, inventory, inspection, sanitation reports, processing/CIP charts, and maintenance work orders.
  • Administer related company policies and procedures, including OSHA and safety, and manage the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Stay actively involved in safety efforts, including attending safety meetings and participating in incident investigations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Dairy Manufacturing or related field is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience in dairy manufacturing or a related industry preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook), English language skills, math and reasoning ability required.
  • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
  • Supervisory, leadership, or mentoring skills strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain Cheese Maker's License, Cheese Grader's license, Buttermaker's license, Weigher's and Sampler's license, pasteurizer operator's certification, and wastewater treatment plant operator certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
