About the position

The Production Supervisor at Viskase Companies, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the production activities in the Chemical, Extrusion, and Drying Area at the Osceola, AR manufacturing plant. This role emphasizes strong leadership skills to develop a cohesive team that meets production goals while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained. The supervisor will collaborate with the Area Supervisor to optimize production efficiency and manage costs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and control production and waste activities in accordance with budget standards and production schedules.
  • Handle line responsibilities in a specific area of production.
  • Lead, train, motivate, and develop production team associates for future growth.
  • Monitor and maintain records of daily production activities.
  • Ensure quality and productivity goals are met by monitoring area operations.
  • Update, develop, and recommend operating procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Review personnel issues and recommend corrective actions to management and HR.
  • Provide information and service to management on operational matters.
  • Lead safety oversight and training for emergency brigade members, ensuring adherence to safety policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required; AA degree or higher is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a production supervisor in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience supervising a medium-sized hourly team.
  • Troubleshooting experience in equipment and knowledge of chemical processes is ideal.
  • Strong leadership skills including managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Technical background in manufacturing operations and understanding of flow and chemical processes.
  • Experience with safety oversight and writing incident reports.
  • Familiarity with error-free timekeeping and Kronos.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong math skills and aptitude.
