About the position

The Production Support Analyst III - SQL Server DBA at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is responsible for providing technical support across various projects, ensuring that software applications meet stakeholder needs. This role involves maintaining and administering application and server resources, troubleshooting systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer application and server resources.
• Monitor systems, resources, applications, and users to ensure maximum system availability.
• Provide estimates for software development activities and refine estimating models based on project trends.
• Troubleshoot and debug IT systems and products to improve performance.
• Collaborate with business partners to implement technical operations and testing of applications.
• Produce and manage formal documentation and write standards-compliant code and unit tests.
• Define non-functional specifications and contribute to application/system design for supportability and reliability.
• Supervise project teams in a matrix environment and monitor project status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7+ years of IT work experience focused in production support.
• Experience as a team lead or member on project teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Expert knowledge of Oracle, DB2, UDB, MySQL, MS SQL, and Vertica.
• Strong analytical skills and team-oriented interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in AWS data technologies such as Amazon RDS, Data Lake, and DynamoDB.
