About the position

The role serves as a technical resource across various BCBSA technical projects, focusing on software products developed and supported by Information Technology. The primary purpose is to ensure that applications meet stakeholder needs while providing tiered product support in collaboration with engineering and development teams. The position involves maintaining application and server resources, monitoring system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer application and server resources.
• Analyze, evaluate, and support the operational environment, ensuring maximum system availability.
• Provide estimates for software development activities and refine estimating models based on project trends.
• Troubleshoot and debug IT systems and products to enhance performance.
• Collaborate with business partners to implement technical operations and testing processes for applications.
• Document processes and produce formal artifacts, ensuring code and unit tests are standards-compliant.
• Define non-functional specifications and contribute to application/system design for supportability and reliability.
• Supervise project teams in a matrix environment and monitor project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7+ years of IT work experience focused on production support.
• Experience as a team lead or member on project teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Expert knowledge of design, implementation, and management of Oracle, DB2, UDB, MySQL, MS SQL, and Vertica.
• Strong analytical skills and team-oriented interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in AWS data technologies such as Amazon RDS, Data Lake, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
