The Production Support Engineer - Automation plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall health and modernization of the organization's Information Technology systems. This position involves providing comprehensive support to internal lines of business across the technology infrastructure. The engineer will engage in various activities including analysis, development, modification, installation, testing, and maintenance of hardware, software, networking, and security systems. A key aspect of this role is troubleshooting issues, making recommendations, and responding to incidents and customer requests based on established standard operating procedures and runbooks. In this role, the engineer will assist with system design reviews and software testing, providing valuable input on moderately complex projects and occasionally serving as a subject-matter expert. The engineer will also support and deploy vendor software and packages, modify and debug vendor-supplied utilities, and monitor system capacity and performance using a broad set of tools. Technical support will be provided to various departments and users, with a focus on identifying troublesome trends and developing plans to resolve issues and prevent recurrences. Each team member is expected to be aware of risks within their functional area, which includes adhering to all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should promptly raise and report any known or suspected violations to the appropriate company authority. The role may also involve performing other related duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the IT department and the organization as a whole.
