About the position

The purpose of this position is to provide ingredient supply, product changeover, shortening packaging, and other services required to convert raw materials into dry mixes for our customers. This role is essential in ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the company. The position involves operating bulk dump stations to supply indoor silo requirements, verifying that the correct product is connected and conveyed to the proper silo, and accurately utilizing computerized process stock location inventory menus and windows. In addition to these responsibilities, the employee will complete and process various documentation related to bag dumps, inventory, clean down, safety, and shift tie-ins in a clear, accurate, and timely manner. Routine sanitation tasks must be performed in accordance with regulatory guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space entry protocols. The employee will also be responsible for setting up and shutting down oil/shortening packaging scales, performing inspections, and ensuring that production meets scheduled requirements. The role requires a commitment to following GMPs at all times and being computer literate to manage the necessary documentation and processes effectively. The work environment is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs, and maintain safety and quality standards throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Supplies indoor silo requirements through operation of bulk dump stations.
  • Verifies correct product connected and conveyed to proper silo.
  • Accurately utilizes computerized process stock location inventory menus and windows.
  • Completes and processes bag dump, inventory, cleandown, safety, shift tie-in, and other related documentation in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Performs routine and changeover sanitation tasks within regulatory, GMP, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry guidelines.
  • Properly uses and cares for the cleaning equipment used in process sanitation.
  • Properly sets up and shuts down oil/shortening packaging scales.
  • Performs check weighs, density, sifter, and screener inspections as required.
  • Produces to scheduled oil/shortening requirements.
  • Supplies bulk dump stations with a sufficient supply of the right ingredients.
  • Performs automatic and manual manipulation of various process equipment and devices.
  • Follows GMPs at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 years of Food processing and packaging machinery experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience helpful.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to frequently climb multiple flights of stairs.
  • Ability to safeguard product quality and follow GMP, housekeeping, and food safety guidelines.
  • Ability to process information systematically to identify and eliminate problem causes.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively, self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate using a variety of media.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with fellow team members.
  • Ability to coach, train and develop others.
