About the position

As a Production Support Specialist at Hallmark, you will play a crucial role in our production center, contributing to the creation of products that bring joy to millions of customers worldwide. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that support the production process across multiple departments. You will receive comprehensive training from a dedicated team of trainers and supervisors, ensuring you are well-equipped to handle various tasks and challenges in the production environment. Your work schedule will be part-time, consisting of three 10-hour shifts on the weekend, with options for Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday. The starting pay for this position ranges from $19.20 to $22.65 per hour, depending on your shift. Flexibility is essential, as you will assist with different assignments across departments, adapting to the needs of the production line. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and moving greeting card stock, packing finished goods, and ensuring product quality. You will also be involved in the mixing of adhesives, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting various production areas by managing stock and inputting information into the computer system. The work environment is fast-paced and requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and reliability. You will be part of a diverse team that values collaboration and efficiency, and you will have opportunities for overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and move greeting card stock to the cutter and assigned pallets.
  • Pack finished goods on a packaging line.
  • Remove die-cut cards from full sheets using a hammer or automatic extractor system.
  • Prepare and set up the automatic extractor to cut the correct sheet dimensions.
  • Determine when the adhesive will be mixed and when tests will be performed on the mixture.
  • Ensure that the ingredients are in the area for mixing adhesives.
  • Support production areas by ordering the correct stock and moving components in and out of areas.
  • Input information into the computer system and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Examine products to ensure product quality has been met and assist in preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to grip and push/pull lifts of stock 2"-3.5" thick, 80-120 times per hour.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lb stacks of stock, 60-80 times per hour, with frequent lifting of 40-60 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to constantly stand, walk, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to constantly use repetitive hand/wrist motion and perform fine motor skills.
