About the position

The Production Support role at Tradeweb is a critical position within a global team responsible for supporting and maintaining the trading system. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the system architecture, enabling the candidate to apply and suggest bug fixes, develop new tools for system monitoring and reporting, and collaborate with internal business units to identify and resolve issues. The position offers an end-to-end understanding of a complex online bond trading platform, allowing the individual to gain in-depth knowledge of the architecture and functionality of the system. As part of the responsibilities, the candidate will ensure extremely high levels of availability for production, demonstration, and test systems. This includes the timely and professional resolution of any problems that may arise within these systems. The role also involves the development of system instrumentation and monitoring tools to enhance system performance and reliability. Given the high-pressure, mission-critical production environment, the candidate must be proactive, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be able to prioritize work effectively based on business needs. The position is fully remote, with the Tradeweb Technology hub located in Jersey City, which can be utilized for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be occasions where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites. The role requires flexibility in work schedules, including evening and occasional weekend duties, to ensure continuous support and system availability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure extremely high levels of availability for production, demonstration, and test systems.
  • Resolve any problems in these systems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop system instrumentation and monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to identify and resolve issues.
  • Apply and suggest bug fixes to enhance system performance.
  • Develop new tools for system monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical knowledge.
  • 5+ years of IT experience in a support role.
  • Experience supporting a large system with high levels of availability, ideally in financial or trading systems.
  • Experience or knowledge in OOP concepts, SQL, and scripting languages (Perl/Python).
  • 2+ years of object-oriented development experience, ideally in Microsoft Visual C++.
  • Relational Database experience.
  • Strong scripting knowledge in Perl/Python/shell.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fixed income market knowledge.
  • Experience with configuring and using monitoring tools like Grafana, ITRS.
  • Flexibility in working multiple shifts.
