About the position

The Production Team Lead for Nights at PepsiCo in Nashville, Tennessee, is responsible for overseeing the operation of one or multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks including moving raw materials to the production line, filling, capping, sealing, labeling, and packaging products. The position requires the removal of damaged products or supplies as necessary and is accountable for production, package, and flavor changeovers. The individual will maintain required product inspection processes and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure that production equipment operates efficiently. The role demands physical stamina as it requires lifting, carrying, and pushing or pulling cases weighing between 20 to 45 pounds repeatedly over extended periods. The position also necessitates walking or standing for most of the shift, with potential stooping, crawling, and crouching under conveyors. Additionally, the Production Team Lead may be required to work on weekends and/or holidays, emphasizing the need for flexibility in scheduling. Key responsibilities include operating and monitoring production lines to ensure efficiency, removing or shifting materials and finished products to facilitate proper flow, ensuring package and product quality, performing preventative maintenance, and operating all manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. The individual will also be responsible for cleaning equipment and the work area before, during, and after shifts, maintaining a clean work environment through good housekeeping practices, expediting repairs to the production line in collaboration with maintenance, and keeping daily records of downtime and machine operations. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Experience with high speed production lines
  • Experience with pallets, including operating a forklift
  • Experience operating a packing machine
  • Experience operating a filler machine
  • Experience operating a palletizer
  • Experience reading blueprints and schematics
  • Experience reading production schedules
  • Experience with computers in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with sanitization procedures
  • Experience with minor mechanical repairs
  • Experience with preventative maintenance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices in a food plant
