About the position

The Production Team Leader at Sugar Foods Corporation is responsible for overseeing and managing production operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves leading and training a team, implementing continuous improvement methods, and collaborating with various departments to meet production goals. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with a focus on developing talent and maintaining high production standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and monitor production operations for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Lead, motivate, and train employees to achieve production results and improve individual skills.
• Develop the team's ability to solve operational issues using team meetings and Lean/Continuous Improvement methods.
• Ensure safety in the plant by promoting safe work behaviors and conditions.
• Provide leadership and training to employees to improve performance and resource utilization.
• Track downtime and develop plans to reduce it in collaboration with operators and maintenance staff.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance support is available during production.
• Develop and implement plans to reduce waste and control material weights.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, VFM, and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor employee performance and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of successful team leadership/supervision experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Food Plant GMP's and SOP's.
• Strong knowledge of SPC implementation.
• Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge and application of tools such as Visual Factory Management, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Statistical Process Control.
