About the position

The Production Technician - Gas Mixing role at MSA Safety involves blending refrigerant gases into cylinders and assembling moderately complex instruments. This position is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of gas mixes and the quality of the products being shipped. The technician will work primarily on the 3rd shift and is expected to operate with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Blend refrigerant gases into cylinders using gravitational scales and predefined Excel calculations.
• Handle gas cylinders and verify gas mix accuracies using a gas sensing device.
• Assemble and test moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering.
• Pick parts from the warehouse as needed.
• Produce customized instruments to customer specifications.
• Package and ship instruments according to customer specifications.
• Generate delivery notes and determine method of shipping.
• Transfer material to shipping dock.
• Perform visual inspections and minor repairs and rework.
• Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information in the computer system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 months electronics manufacturing or related experience.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
• Understanding of standard units of measure and ability to interpret results of measuring devices.
• Strong manual dexterity for using tools and performing work on small components.

Nice-to-haves

• Past soldering experience.
• Ability to use Excel and interpret numbers/decimals.
