About the position

The Production Technician at INEOS Nitriles is responsible for operating and monitoring chemical processing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves working rotating 12-hour shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, and requires participation in the plant's Emergency Response Team. The technician must adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold safety as the highest priority.
  • Adhere to and support the INEOS 20 Principles and Global Life Saving Rules.
  • Control unit equipment or systems that process chemical substances into specified products according to established operating procedures.
  • Observe and compile data from field instruments or a distributive control system to control temperatures, pressures, levels, and flows.
  • Record process information and operating activities on log sheets, logbooks, and electronic devices.
  • Perform thorough shift handovers during shift relief.
  • Collect samples as outlined in the sample plan or as requested.
  • Complete computer-based training (VTA's) on schedule.
  • Work with supervision to troubleshoot and optimize the process.
  • Help maintain plant integrity by ensuring equipment is in good, safe, and regulatory compliant condition.
  • Identify maintenance issues and communicate them through the SAP/work order system.
  • Perform routine and non-routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe process area.
  • Assist the Safety Department in reviewing and auditing the process as requested.
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications, qualifications, and training records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Process Technology Degree or experience in a Chemical Manufacturing plant is preferred.
  • History of high job performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and excellent work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Distributive Control System (DCS) and Data Historian software.
  • Familiarity with electronic devices such as calculators, personal computers, and two-way radios.
