Production Technician I, Cycle Counter - 1st Shift

About the position

The Logistics Coordinator II at Caterpillar Inc. is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership within the Inventory Record Accuracy department. This role focuses on ensuring the efficient performance of activities related to assembly, logistics, and quality of Caterpillar engines. The position involves data entry duties, supporting continuous improvement activities, and collaborating with management and team leads to meet customer and company demands.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of the assigned team.
• Perform data entry duties within the Inventory Record Accuracy department.
• Work in Excel to input data and generate reports as needed.
• Learn Caterpillar manufacturing systems for inventory count reconciliation.
• Conduct root cause analysis of defects discovered in cycle counts and audits.
• Lead and support Continuous Improvement activities within the Caterpillar Production System.
• Escalate issues and resources to develop countermeasures.
• Support other departments as needed and execute special duties as directed by management.

Requirements

• Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Knowledge of parts/products and assembly tools.
• Intermediate proficiency in standard operating procedures or standard work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a team environment.
• No written infractions in the last rolling 6 months.

Nice-to-haves

• At least 6 months of experience in Supply Chain or Logistics.
• Strong understanding of material movement throughout the facility.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to lead and multi-task while staying organized.
• Capable of working independently.
