About the position

The Production Technician at Corrugated Supplies Company (CSC) plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the second shift, which runs from 3 PM to 11 PM. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the manufacturing environment, particularly in the corrugated industry. The technician will be part of a goal-directed Shift Team, working collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of safety, quality, cost, and production during their shift. The role involves training over a period of five to seven years to attain the highly skilled operations technician status known as "Tech A," which includes responsibilities for running advanced technical processes and equipment. The Production Technician will be involved in various activities related to the operation of high-speed corrugating machines, robotic assembly devices, conveyors, batch mixers, electrical distribution systems, and building automation systems. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area, adhering to all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures. The technician will also be expected to troubleshoot production issues, communicate effectively with plant operations and management, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and production. Candidates for this position should possess a high school diploma or GED, with additional certifications and experience in the corrugated or manufacturing industry being preferred. The role requires a self-motivated, dependable, and organized individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is willing to learn and share knowledge with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support second shift operations from 3 PM to 11 PM.
  • Operate high-speed corrugating machines and robotic assembly devices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area by following PPE and safety procedures.
  • Achieve production goals while ensuring product quality and cost efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with plant operations and facility management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues to minimize safety hazards and downtime.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and production.
  • Train through operational skills to attain Tech A status over five to seven years.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics is highly preferred.
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations is necessary.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Associate's degree directly related to manufacturing is a plus.
  • Related military training or experience is preferred.
