About the position

As a Production Technician at Ball Corporation, you will be an integral member of a production crew, directly reporting to a supervisor within your assigned production area. Your role is crucial in ensuring the success of our operations by adhering to the operating principles of all assigned equipment and following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) relevant to your responsibilities. The Pittston plant operates in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment that runs 24/7, 365 days a year. This means that you will be part of a dynamic team that works 12 ¼-hour shifts, with schedules that rotate between day and night shifts every six weeks, allowing for a unique work-life balance of three days on and three days off. In this position, you will be expected to follow all 5S standards and job safety practices, which include, but are not limited to, food safety protocols, the use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to emergency procedures. Your responsibilities will also include operating, adjusting, and repairing high-speed production equipment to meet the plant's production goals. Additionally, you will assist in performing preventative maintenance on the equipment assigned to you and inspect aluminum products to ensure they meet the required quality standards and customer specifications. Building positive relationships within your designated team through effective collaboration and communication is essential, as is upholding ethical integrity in all your interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
  • Assist with performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating and communicating.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • 1-year minimum experience in a mechanical job-related field with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years' work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
