About the position

The Electropolisher position at Medix involves working in a fast-paced production environment, focusing on the electropolishing and passivation processes. The role requires adherence to quality and safety standards while performing manual tasks and documenting inspection results. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, offering shifts during the day and evening.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established procedures for completing assigned daily production tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards during electropolishing and passivation processes.
  • Identify non-conforming products through visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Promptly report any quality or quantity concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Perform manual pre-cleaning of parts as needed.
  • Document in-process inspection results accurately.
  • Actively monitor processes and take timely corrective actions to meet quality and production goals.
  • Regularly check equipment functionality and recommend maintenance or repairs when necessary.
  • Transport in-process work between departments as required.
  • Maintain safe work practices and uphold housekeeping standards according to legal and company guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand job instructions.
  • Proficiency in accurately documenting process notes.
  • Effective communication skills for fast-paced production settings.
  • Capability to safely lift 40 lbs. without assistance and perform tasks such as climbing stairs, reaching, and twisting.
  • Skill in using hand carts and fully loaded pallet jacks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in electropolishing, plating, or metal finishing is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with micrometers, microscopes, gauges, and other quality control tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings is a plus.
